why is she an anime protagonist? Just because she’s a teenage East Asian girl who excels at something?? Every time an east Asian kid excels at something ppl are always hopping up being like “ANIME PROTAGONIST” and it’s not cool and it’s not progressive. I say this bc anime is a very specific form of media namely JAPANESE. If you’d said she was like a comic heroine that would be another thing but to call her an anime protagonist is borderline fetishizing and gross so don’t do it.
You seem like a socially aware person & I’m not saying this to antagonize you but this attribution of fictional Japanese cartoon characters to real East Asian people doing real things is an issue.
